At the Airport

Access

Access to terminals is restricted to passengers only (except for special circumstances when assistance is required for passengers with reduced mobility, unaccompanied minors, etc.)
Passengers are recommended to arrive 2 hour prior to their flight, and 4 hours prior at Bishkek airport.
Temperature check – all passengers will have a non-contact temperature check upon arrival at the airports.

Face mask

It is compulsory to wear a surgical mask or a face mask (covering your nose, mouth and chin) at all times. Passengers must carry spare surgical masks or face masks to ensure effectiveness over long periods of use.

Check-in

We recommend using online check-in facility via our website or mobile app when travelling within Kazakhstan
Check in online for those flights in which this option is available.
Maintain the minimum physical distancing indicated by the signs.
The check-in staff will only ask you to hand over your documentation if necessary.

Boarding

Air Astana continues to offer a priority boarding system for Business Class and status holders.
Boarding is subject to enhanced controls and appropriate social distancing.

Hand baggage

No restrictions are placed on taking hand luggage however Air Astana recommends checking in larger items.
Lounges

Air Astana lounges

Air Astana lounges are open in their key hubs with a limited pre-packaged food selection.
Face masks should be worn when not consuming food/ beverages.
Shower/ spa facilities remain open to passengers.
Onboard the flight

Face mask

It is compulsory to wear a surgical mask or a face mask (covering your nose, mouth and chin) at all times. Passengers must carry spare surgical masks or face masks to ensure effectiveness over long periods of use.
Respiratory etiquette should be observed at all times (the mouth and nose should be covered with a tissue or flexed elbow when sneezing or coughing).

In the cabin

Passengers should remain seated where necessary and moving around the cabin or loitering in galley areas is advised against.

Sanitiser

Appropriate hand sanitisation and mask disposal should be practised onboard and staff will advise appropriately. The airline recommends passengers to bring their own sanitiser.

Meals & beverages

Catering will be provided in disposable dishes in both Economy and Business class. Passengers will be asked to put their masks back on after having a meal.
Cleaning

On the aircraft

Staff utilise full PPE onboard and will be conducting more regular checks and sanitisation of washrooms areas and aircraft touchpoints.
All aircraft use HEPA filtered which are guaranteed to eliminate 99,99% of microparticles within the cabin.
Arrivals

General info

The Air Astana website has clear guidance relating to arrival restrictions of countries covered in their route network and this is updated regularly.
Air Astana passengers should have completed a PCR test within 96 hours of departure and transit passengers are included in this requirement.

Deplaning

Deplaning is completed in a front-to-back system and is completed using a controlled system with priority deplaning in place.
