At the Airport

Face mask

It is compulsory to wear a surgical mask or a face mask (covering your nose, mouth and chin) at all times.

Check-in

With all the precautionary measures now in place, the check-in and boarding processes are longer, and passengers are required to arrive at the airport 3 hours before the scheduled departure.
All passengers are screened with thermal scanners upon arrivals and departures.
Passengers are encouraged to check-in online 30 hours prior to departure and get your boarding pass on your mobile.

Hand baggage

Hand baggage should be minimised onboard to ensure reduced movement around the cabin. Air Mauritius staff will not be able to assist with the placement of overhead baggage.

Boarding

Ensure social distancing at all times and follow general hygiene etiquette. Boarding will be undertaken by zones with priority and pre-boarding options still available.
Lounges

Air Mauritius lounge

Due to the current health situation, Air Mauritius lounges at SSR International Airport are temporarily closed.
Onboard the flight

Face mask

It is compulsory to wear a surgical mask or a face mask (covering your nose, mouth and chin) at all times.

Sanitiser

A sanitary kit containing surgical masks and sanitary gel will be offered to travellers. Furthermore, a comfort kit is offered on our long haul flights.
Appropriate hand sanitisation and mask disposal should be practised onboard and staff will advise appropriately.

Meals & beverages

Pre-packed food, bottled water and selected drinks will be available dependant on the flight sector length.
Inflight service has been adapted in order to minimise interaction. Paid champagne offers in economy class, duty-free sales and onboard wifi services are temporarily suspended.

IFE

A selection of movies, music and games is available on flights.
Prior to your flight passengers are encouraged download a selection of digital newspapers and magazines from more than ±7000 digital publications available.

In the cabin

Passengers should remain seated where necessary and moving around the cabin is not permitted.
Cleaning

In the aircraft

Air Mauritius aircraft are equipped with HEPA filters with an efficiency level of more than 99.9% filtering very small particles such as bacteria and viruses. Cabin air inside aircraft is also refreshed every 2-3 minutes.
On ATR aircraft, air quality is ensured by the continuous fresh air supplied from Environment Control System packs and the high renewal rate of the cabin air volume.
Headrests, blankets, headsets and pillow covers are washed, sanitized and packed according to international standards.
A reinforced deep cleaning and disinfecting protocol has been implemented for all aircraft cabins including high touch surfaces, all cabin items and service equipment among others before and after each flight.
On board lavatories are tidied and cleaned at regular intervals.
Arrivals

Guidance

Passengers may check destination arrival requirements via the website however this is the responsibility of the passenger.
The Government of Mauritius has announced the phased easing of travel restrictions in Mauritius. Since the 01 October 2020, borders are opened to Mauritian nationals, residents and tourists travelling to Mauritius for long stays. Following this announcement, Air Mauritius will be operating two weekly flights to Paris-CDG on Tuesdays and Fridays and one weekly flight to Reunion on Mondays during the month of October.
