At the Airport

Face mask

Face coverings are required for all team members and travelers in the airport – where your trip begins, where it ends and where you connect. A face covering is required in the airport and while flying on American, except for children under 2 years old.

Check-in

In an effort to minimize face-to-face contact, please use web/mobile check-in whenever possible.
For the safety of the passengers and airline staff on domestic and international flights, wearing masks is mandatory when at check-in, boarding, and on board.
Areas around the gate are regularly disinfected to maintain a clean and healthy environment

Hand baggage

Passengers are recommended to reduce their volume of carried hand luggage at this time and check-in not essential items.

Boarding

To better allow for personal distancing, boarding procedures have been updated so guests board by row numbers in smaller groups from the back to the front.
Priority Boarding continues to be offered.
Lounges

Asiana lounges

Due to recent route reductions due to COVID-19, Incheon International Airport is operating only one lounge (located in the East Wing) for international flight passengers.
There are discontinued newspaper and magazine services in the lounge.
Onboard the flight

Face mask

For your well-being and those seated near you, a face covering is required during flight but you can remove it to eat or drink.

Cabin staff

Members of the cabin crew are required to wear personal protective equipment (masks, disposable gloves, aprons, and isolation gowns) when providing in-flight services during the flight.

Meals & beverages

In-flight meals are prepared in accordance with strict hygiene procedures including checking the production employees for fever, keeping hands sanitized, and wearing masks.
For some international flights, standard catering will not be possible due to COVID-19, so the menu may be partially changed or substituted with a light meal.
In-flight meals for medium-to-short-haul flights are now served in disposable containers, and all domestic beverage services have been suspended for a set period.
Cleaning

In the cabin

We maintain a safe onboard environment by disinfecting all aircraft in operation at least once a week.
Chemicals used are proven to sterilize and protect surfaces against various infectious viruses including COVID-19 for one week.
The air inside the cabin flows vertically working as an air curtain, preventing the virus from spreading between seats.
Arrivals

Deplaning

Upon landing, passengers will need to adhere to the disembarkation instructions as advised by the cabin crew and observe the health and safety measures set by the authorities at the country of destination.
When you land, please keep your face mask on until you have left the airport terminal.

Citizens of certain countries will not be permitted transit status in Incheon Airport including Thai and Mongolian citizens. Refer to official websites for the most up to date information.
