At the Airport

Face mask

Prepare a bio-security kit: mask (mandatory for passengers over 6 years old), gloves, anti-bacterial gel. Keep in mind that you must change your mask every 4 hours if it is a single use mask or every 8 hours if it is a fabric mask.
Always use your face mask, it is mandatory from the entrance of the airport until the end of your trip.

General Information

Prepare the documents required for your trip. Additionally, check if there are any restrictions or procedures you must follow, as defined by the government of the country you are visiting.
At the airport each passenger will have their temperature taken. If you identify that you have a fever (38°C or higher) your boarding will be denied.
Maintain the minimum social distance required by the authorities (2 meters/6 feet).
All staff will have protective equipment such as masks, gloves, among others.

Hand baggage

Pack only what you need to make your baggage light. The airline recommends that you bring only one personal item that you can keep under your front seat or that is light enough to be placed on the top rack of your seat by yourself.

Boarding will take place in small groups, always maintaining the required social distancing. You must be aware of your gate’s alerts and only approach the boarding area once your group gets called.
Before boarding, inform staff if you have symptoms such as fever, nausea, headache, body pain or difficulty breathing and shortness of breath.
Self-scan your boarding pass and show your travel document to the boarding agent.

Lounge info

For your safety, food and beverages available in our VIP lounges will be served in individual packages and reading material won’t be available, to avoid contact.
Onboard the flight

Face mask

Always use your face mask, it is mandatory from the entrance of the airport until the end of your trip.

Cabin staff

All Avianca crew will be using face masks, gloves and other personal protection items.
Due to aeronautical regulations, the crew must also maintain social distancing, which is why they won’t be able to help you place your baggage.

Service onboard

Only on some flights will Avianca have towels for surface disinfection at your disposal.
For your safety the airline has simplified the service on board. Therefore, on flights where food service is offered, food and beverages will be served in individual packaging.
The airline recommends that you bring your own entertainment on board, as Avianca magazine and other reading materials will not be available, in order to reduce the handling of items on board.

The aircraft

Air filters supply a complete exchange of fresh air approximately every three minutes. The resulting excellent air quality, in combination with a face mask, offers so much protection that it is not essential to maintain minimum distances to passengers in neighboring seats.
The frequency and intensity of cabin cleaning have been increased. This applies in particular to tables, armrests, seat belts, toilets and door handles.

Upon landing, passengers will need to adhere to the disembarkation instructions as advised by the cabin crew and observe the health and safety measures set by the authorities at the country of destination.

Other information

Remember that you must comply with the entry protocols in force for other airports adopted by the authorities of each country.
Maintain the social distance of 2 meters/6 feet required by the authorities at the time of picking up your luggage.
