At the Airport

Face mask

Wear a face mask when checking in at the airport and in the cabin (except for food/drink).

Check-in

China Airlines introduced Online Check-in service for all travelers to effectively reduce the amount of time they need to spend at the airport.
This is available from 48 hours (24 hours for USA) before their scheduled departure to 60 minutes before the flight takes off.
Airport kiosks will be temporarily suspended in Taiwan and Osaka Kansai airport to avoid repeated contact with travelers.
Floor decals and signage at check-in as a reminder to stay six feet apart.

Hand luggage

Passengers are recommended to reduce their volume of carried hand luggage at this time.

Boarding

Body temperature will also be taken before boarding. Passengers with a forehead temperature over 37.5°C (or 99.5°F) will not be accepted to their flight.
Priority Boarding and pre-boarding continues to be offered.
Lounges

China Airlines lounges

The China-Airlines VIP Lounges located at Taoyuan Airport Terminal 1 - A side and Terminal 2 - D4 gate will partially reopen for service from 23rd, September 2020.
Due to the enhanced pandemic prevention there are some adjustments on the meal services and the seating area.
Onboard the flight

Face mask

Wear a face mask when checking in at the airport and in the cabin (except for food/drink).
In addition to masks, passengers should consider bringing their own gloves and warm clothing.

Guidance

Please avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth during the flight. If you should feel physically unwell, please notify the cabin crew.
Do not change your seats while in the cabin.
Non-essential conversation and interaction with other passengers at close range (less than 1 meter) should be minimized.
China Airlines initiates the plan of "safe seat selection" for the premium economy class and the economy class on international flights. The principle of the "safe seat selection" plan is to keep middle seats empty or to separate the seat selection by the aisle to avoid passengers sitting directly beside each other.

Meals & beverages

On-board catering and service supplies, such as one-time supplies, main course on the tray are introduced and table cloth, menu card/wine list are not provided to reduce the possibility of personal contact during services.
Cleaning

In the aircraft

Strict cabin and air-conditioning system disinfection procedures are enforced by China Airlines.
After the end of flight, the airline uses special aircraft disinfecting and cleaning agents (Calla 1452 or Ardrox1820) to perform full cabin disinfection. After disinfection of the entire plane, we let the interior sit for 30 minutes before operating the air conditioning system.
On average, the air in aircraft is completely changed every 2-3 minutes.
High-touch and public areas like tray tables, seat belt buckles, armrests, window shades, seatback screens, doors and overhead bin handles continue to be cleaned before every flight.
Arrivals

Deplaning

Upon landing, passengers will need to adhere to the disembarkation instructions as advised by the cabin crew and observe the health and safety measures set by the authorities at the country of destination.

Other arrivals guidance

When you land, please keep your face mask on until you have left the airport terminal. Individual nationalities should confirm their legibility to transfer in Taipei (TPE).
In order to conduct electronic tracking for community concern, inbound passengers please act in concert with using our country's telecom number(SIM card can be bought in the airport after arriving) and personal cell phone(1 cell per person) for declaration.
All inbound travelers are required to stay at a quarantine hotel to undergo home quarantine if you don’t have a separate room.
Please log in the system 48 hours before the flight arrives in Taiwan in order to maintain the data correctness. (https://www.qrcode-cdc.tw/Default1?openExternalBrowser=1)
