At the Airport

Face mask

Wear a face mask when checking in at the airport and in the cabin (except for food/drink).

Check-in

China Eastern introduced Online Check-in service for some travelers to effectively reduce the amount of time they need to spend at the airport.
Floor decals and signage at check-in as a reminder to stay six feet apart.
For passengers' safety, all our employees are required to wear masks.
High touch areas such as Kiosks, check-in counters, elevator buttons, and handrails are disinfected.
Clean wipes are available to passengers at hub airports.

Hand luggage

No additional restrictions are made on hand luggage.

Boarding

Priority Boarding and pre-boarding continues to be offered.
Lounges

Our lounges

China Eastern Lounges are currently open, however these offer a reduced service concept to avoid unnecessary contact.
Due to the enhanced pandemic prevention there are some adjustments on the meal services and the seating area
Airline lounges are disinfected on a regular basis.
Onboard the flight

Face mask

Wear a face mask when checking in at the airport and in the cabin (except for food/drink).
Please avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth during the flight. If you should feel physically unwell, please notify the cabin crew.

Service changes

Non-contact infrared thermometer equipment is used for temperature check as required.
Onboard announcements are updated to inform passengers of anti-epidemic measures in time.
Cleaning

In the aircraft

China Eastern brings together safety and hygiene practices from recommendations from authorities, including the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and International Air Transport Association (IATA).
All aircraft offer the standardised HEPA air filtration system.
High-touch and public areas like tray tables, seat belt buckles, armrests, window shades, seatback screens, doors and overhead bin handles continue to be cleaned before every flight.

Deplaning

Upon landing, passengers will need to adhere to the disembarkation instructions as advised by the cabin crew and observe the health and safety measures set by the authorities at the country of destination.
