At the Airport


At check-in counters, our agents will be stationed at a distance from one another, and plexiglass shields will be in place to ensure distancing
Self-service kiosks will not be available immediately when resuming service at Tocumen International Airport.

Airport guidance

Arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before your flight departure time.
Only travelers will be allowed to enter the airport. If you need special assistance may be accompanied by someone.
As you enter the airport, your temperature will be taken by thermal scanners.
Sanitizing mats will be located at the entry doors
Tocumen International Airport will have a plan in place to ensure that airport facilities are cleaned and disinfected regularly.
Security agents will not touch your belongings. If screening is needed, agents will change their gloves between each passenger.

Hand luggage

You may bring one carry-on bag and one personal item with you. We ask you to pack your carry-on bag light enough so that you can lift it up and store it in the overhead bin without assistance.


During the boarding process, the airline will follow the social distancing measures recommended by the health authorities.
Flights will be boarded by groups, from back to front. Each group separately to minimize the number of passengers in line.
To limit physical interaction, at airports that have electronic scanners, you will need to self-board by placing your boarding pass on the scanner and showing your passport to the boarding agent.
No priority boarding is available.

Copa Clubs

In an effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19, as a precautionary measure, we have decided to temporarily close some of our Copa Clubs.
The airline will be announcing the reopening of the Copa Club through official communication channels including our social media accounts.
As of September 2020, the Copa Club in Panama (PTY) is open.
Onboard the flight

Copa distributes a sanitary kit with a face mask and disinfecting wipes.

Meals & beverages

Any food and beverages that the airline provides will be prepackaged.

Movement in the aisles will be minimized during the flight.
Lavatories will be cleaned and disinfected every 1.5 hours on all flights. Crew members will use the lavatory at the front of the cabin.

Our aircraft

All aircraft are equipped with high-efficiency filters (HEPA), which purify up to 99.97% of virus and bacteria particles. In addition, its cabin air recirculation system renews the air every 2-3 minutes and its vertical displacement prevents it from being shared with passengers on the sides and in front.
Aircraft will be thoroughly disinfected using hospital-grade products approved by Boeing. These products, which have broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity and are proven effective against coronaviruses, will be applied prior to each flight using an electrostatic sprayer.
Additional enhanced cabin cleaning procedures, especially for windows, tray tables, armrests, seat belt buckles, overhead bin handles, and entertainment centers.


Upon arrival at your destination, stay in your seat and wait your turn to get off the aircraft.

Other arrivals guidance

When you arrive at Tocumen International Airport, your temperature will be taken.
Visitors and transportation services will not be allowed to enter the airport. Passengers leaving the airport will be directed to designated areas where they can be picked up or access public transportation.
