At the Airport

Face mask

Please note that some airports have introduced obligated mouth and nose cover both in the terminals and in the shops. It is recommended that you always carry a mask with you to be prepared for any scenario.
From 1 September 2020 onward, flying without a mask due to medical reasons is only possible with a medical certificate form (PDF for download) and a negative Covid-19 test.

If possible, please check in early via our website or Eurowings app.
Currently, web or app check-in is available without restrictions for flights within Germany.
Arrive at the airport with extra time before your departure.

Hand baggage

At all German airports passengers are only allowed to pass through the security check with one piece of hand baggage.
Weight restrictions remain the same although passengers should be able to comfortably lift this overhead.

During boarding, check-in and on board Eurowings pay attention to the greatest possible distance and try to leave seats free between passengers whenever possible.
Please wait until your group is called to board and keep the required minimum distance.
To reduce the risk of infection, hold the barcode of your boarding pass against the reader yourself instead of handing it to the boarding staff.
Boarding pace is controlled by dividing passengers into groups.

Customer guidance

At some airports, passenger handling is limited to only one terminal. This may result in short-term gate and terminal changes.
Security check: Please keep a distance of at least two arm lengths from other passengers at the security checkpoint.
In order to avoid personal contact, all passengers are requested to place shoes, belts and watches in the luggage trays.

Our lounges

Lufthansa Group lounges are gradually re-opening although there may be changes to the service and products available in lounges.
Onboard the flight

Face mask

For the benefit of all, masks are compulsory onboard all flights.

Staff will hand you a disinfecting wipe when you board the plane to be used to clean the surfaces in the area of your seat.

Service changes

With Eurowings, you can keep the desired distance to your fellow passengers and book the middle seat next to your seat from just €18 via the call centre. In this way, they can guarantee that the seat left vacant is not passed on to another passenger.
Eurowings have currently reduced our on-board service. The Wings Bistro keeps a small selection of drinks and snacks in stock.
Please use the option to pay cashless or have the necessary change ready.

Our aircraft

Air filters enable a complete air exchange within about three minutes. The resulting excellent air quality, in combination with a mouth-and-nose guard, offers enough protection from infection, even without the minimum distance from your seat neighbour.
Eurowings does however make every effort to allocate seats as widely as possible throughout the entire aircraft cabin when occupancy is low.
Eurowings have increased the cleaning cycles and regularly carry out disinfectant cleaning in the aircraft cabin and washrooms.
There is also disinfectant washing gel in the washrooms available to all passengers.

Customer guidance

In light of the Corona pandemic, many countries have imposed restrictions on entry.
Eurowings would like to urgently point out that taking a flight is no guarantee for a smooth entry into the destination country.
The airline recommends you inform yourself before departure about the current entry regulations of your destination country. The IATA website provides up-to-date entry regulations for all countries.
Should you be unable to start your journey in the context of the spread of the coronavirus due to changed entry regulations, Eurowings offers you the possibility of rebooking without a rebooking fee.
After your trip: Obligatory Corona test upon return from risk areas to Germany.
After landing, please wait until the airport gives permission to disembark. Please also keep sufficient distance when leaving the aircraft and in the airport.
