At the Airport

Face mask

For everyone’s safety, all Korean Air customers and employees are required to wear a face mask at the airport. If necessary, we will provide you with a care kit that includes a mask and a hand sanitizer. Please contact a staff member if you need one.

Check-in

Self-Service Check-In: In the case where you were unable to check-in on the web or mobile app before arriving at the airport, you will be able to check-In safely through our kiosk.
Queue Guidance Stickers: If you need help from a check-in counter staff, please feel free to visit at any time. When you are waiting, please ensure that you keep the necessary distance from the person in front of you by following the queue stickers attached to the floor.
Plexiglass Shields: We have installed plexiglass shields at our check-in counters to create a safe barrier between passengers and employees.
Hand Sanitizer Stations: Hand sanitizers are provided at our check-in counters, so please feel free to visit the counter to use them at any time.
Safe Spacing Among Passengers: Korean Air assigns seats with sufficient spacing between passengers to ensure that customers can enjoy a safer travel experience.

Boarding

Back-to-Front Zone Boarding: The zone is subdivided and operated from the back seat of the aircraft. Please board according to the zone marked on boarding pass; First class and Prestige class passengers as well as SkyTeam ElitePlus members can board in a dedicated line at a convenient time. Please follow the staff's instructions for a quick and safe boarding process.
Queue Guidance Stickers: Please ensure that you maintain sufficient space with the person in front of you when boarding.
Passenger Fever Check: Thermal imaging cameras and non-contact thermometers are used to check whether or not passengers at home and abroad have fevers, so please feel safe while boarding.
Face Masks Mandatory: For everyone’s safety, please keep your mask on, even in front of the boarding gate.
Lounges

Our lounges

Continuous Cleaning and Care: We clean and disinfect tables, chairs, and other frequently-used items constantly for a safer and restful journey.
Social Distancing Guide : When entering the lounge, please be sure to maintain sufficient distance by following the queue stickers on the floor. In addition, we place notices at the lounge counter to ask passengers’ cooperation in practicing social distance to ensure the safety of all passengers.
Line Dividers: Line dividers are set in the lounge for passengers’ comfort and safety.
Reducing Person-to-Person Contact: We are providing meals individually to reduce physical touchpoints. Though this may be inconvenient, we ask for your understanding to ensure this safety measure.
Hand Sanitizer Stations: The lounge is also equipped with hand sanitizers that you may use at any time.
Face Masks Mandatory: For a pleasant and safe experience, please ensure that you wear a face mask during your stay at the lounge.
Onboard the flight

To ensure a safe and pleasant journey for all passengers, please wear your face masks on board.

Meals & beverages

To deliver safe meals on the aircraft, Korean Air is putting its highest effort to ensure safe hygiene of in-flight meals.
We are mandatorily conducting temperature checks in the entrance and the exit of in-flight meal production facilities, as well as enforcing all employees to wear protective equipment.
We offer simplified meals with disposable products on the Chinese/Japanese/South East Asia routes, and supply round-trip meals when departing Incheon to prevent further spread of infectious diseases.
In addition, to ensure hygienic conditions, we provide disposable hand towels and cups, and have increased the load of individual water bottle supply.
For domestic flights, beverage service is limited to minimize person-to-person contact, we ask for your understanding.

Sanitiser

Please feel free to disinfect your hands at any time during flight, using hand sanitizers placed on board.

Cabin crew

Our cabin crew wears masks, protective clothing, goggles, and mask bands to ensure the highest preventative measures during flight.
Cleaning

On the aircraft

The cabin air is ventilated with fresh air every two to three minutes. Our in-flight HEPA filters remove 99.99% of any viruses and bacteria to keep the air we breathe clean and safe during flight.
All aircrafts bound from foreign airports arriving in Incheon undergo sterilization. In addition, sterilization of aircrafts bound for the US, China, and Italy is carried out at all times. The aircrafts not enumerated above are sterilized once a week.
If suspected cases take place in an aircraft, the aircraft is sterilized under the strictest quarantine measures, and then arranged for the next flight schedule.
