At the Airport

Mobile Check-in

We strongly recommend to check in for your flight via our digital and mobile services on our website or within the Lufthansa app.

Baggage drop-off

Check your bags with our contactless self-service kiosks.

Hand luggage

Due to new regulations at the aviation security checkpoints in Germany, you are currently only allowed to carry one piece of hand luggage.

Security check

Please allow additional time for the modified airport security and screening processes.

Flight boarding

Contactless boarding by groups
Wait until your boarding group is called and board with minimum distance. Use our automatic boarding gates.

Lounge re-opening

Adapted product range
The product range within the lounges has been adapted to the recent guidelines and limitations. Our current food and beverages menue is affected by this and is available only to a limited extent.
New opening
In November, the new Lufthansa lounge at Berlin Brandenburg Airport BER will be opened.
Lounges which are available again
After the reopening of some of our own lounges, our partner lounges in Prague, Sofia and Nice are also available to Lufthansa guests again. Of course all of the lounges of our Star Alliance partners that are in service are available to you as well.
Lounge access for Economy Class:
Starting from 39 Euros, you can visit the Lufthansa lounges in Frankfurt and Munich (limited availability). Simply show your Lufthansa boarding pass at the entrance and pay by credit card.
Permanent closing of lounges:
Unfortunately, a few of our lounges won't be opened again. The ones in Bremen, Dresden, Cologne, Leipzig/Halle and Nuremberg will remain closed. Internationally, our lounge in Delhi will not reopen, however the Air India Lounge is available to you instead.
Reopening of the First Class Terminal in Frankfurt:
Currently, we are working on reopening our First Class Terminal in Frankfurt – including the limousine service. The Lufthansa First Class Lounge in section A of terminal 1 has been reopened already.
Onboard the flight

Face masks

Don’t forget to bring your own face mask.
On long haul flights, we recommend you to bring several masks so that you can switch if necessary (once they get damp). You may also bring hand sanitizer if you wish, but please make sure to adhere to the regulations for traveling with liquids in your carry-on luggage. Throughout your stay on board, you must wear a mouth-nose-cover. Face shields, FFP2 masks with a valve, scarves and shawls are not permitted on board, as they allow the air to escape to the side and do not provide comparable protection. If you do not wear a mask and do not meet the requirements of this exemption, we must exclude you from transportation.

Upon boarding we will provide you with disinfectant wipes. Please only use the disinfectant wipes provided by us for cleaning the surfaces in and around your seat.
