At the Airport

Face mask

It is mandatory to wear a 3-layered face mask on entry to the airport and for the duration of your journey

Hand luggage

No additional restrictions are placed on hand luggage although the airline does recommend passengers to pack light to ensure ease of movement in the cabin. The limit is currently 1 x 7kg item.


There is a changed approach to airplane boarding. Now passengers are invited to board in groups, starting with those whose seats are in the rear of the aircraft. This helps to reduce potential contacts.
Priority Boarding is still being offered to guests in premium class and pre-boarding options.

Airport guidance

Check your temperature prior to leaving home.
Arrive at the airport 3 hours before your flight.
Check in for your flight on the website to avoid waiting in line at the check-in counters at the airport. Check your departure time online to avoid accumulation of people. Passengers may also use self-check-in.
All passenger service areas and equipment, including check-in counters, payment terminals, etc., are regularly disinfected.
Special marking has been made in the check-in area, which will help you maintain social distance.

Our lounges

The Sri Lanka Premium Lounge is currently open, however with restrictions on the services and products available.
Onboard the flight

Cabin service

Blankets and pillows are thoroughly disinfected after each use, and safety instructions are changed more often.
Every dish in the airline menu is cooked and placed in airtight packaging at special cabin food production points.
Adjustments to the service may be experienced in all classes.
Avoid moving around the cabin or using the washroom unnecessarily.
All crews have received instructions on how to act if a crew member or a passenger starts feeling sick or displays coronavirus symptoms.

Our aircraft

Aircraft are regularly deep cleaned and disinfected, and all surfaces, including tray tables, video screens, arm rests, safety belts and overhead luggage bins are sprayed and wiped with disinfectant before every flight.
A highly efficient HEPA filter system purifies and freshens the air on board.


On arrival at your destination airport, disembarking will be made by zones starting with the front of the aircraft.

Arrival guidance

Passengers should maintain use of masks until they are out of the terminal building.
Appropriate social distancing at baggage reclaim points is also encouraged.
