At the Airport

Airport guidance

Your check in experience will be close to what you’re used to: at the kiosk or the check-in counter.
Westjet will be wiping surfaces between guests, you’ll have more room as you wait in line, and Westjet will let you handle your own bags.
Check in online or download our app to check in on your device to limit contact with surfaces throughout your journey.
Travellers with elevated temperatures will not be permitted through security at select Canadian airports.
Make sure you have plenty of time in case there are delays.

Hand luggage

To limit shared touch points along your journey, Westjet will ask that you handle your own baggage. Apart from that, regular carry-on and checked baggage policies apply.

Boarding

For the safety of all our guests and crew, Westjet have enhanced our screening at boarding.
Westjet will ask health questions required by Transport Canada, take your temperature without contact and ensure that you have your own mask to wear on your flight.
In compliance with Transport Canada regulations, to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), Westjet requires all guests to respond to a health questionnaire at the time of boarding.
Lounges

Our lounges

Lounge access is starting to return in select airports. Check the lounge listings for the airport in your destination to see current status.
WestJet’s flagship lounge at the Calgary International Airport will be open November 2, 2020.
Touchless, self-serve entry - Guests travelling alone who have access included can use our contactless entrance.
Face masks required - Face masks are mandatory for staff and guests, except when eating and drinking.
Space and distance - Enjoy more space with capacity held under 50%, our distanced seat layout and 6ft (2m) markers.
Digital menu service – Once seated to dine, order from digital menus with beverage and meal service directly to your table.
Clean environment – Be at ease with plexiglass shields at high interaction areas, hand sanitizers throughout and enhanced and continuous high touch cleaning including electrostatic spraying.
Onboard the flight

Face mask

You’ll need to bring a face mask or covering with you to wear throughout your travel journey.
Transport Canada requires all guests 2 years of age or older to wear a face covering.
Masks with an exhalation vent are not acceptable.

Cabin service

You’ll be welcomed onboard with a smile and a disinfectant wipe so you can freshen your seat area for extra peace of mind.
Westjet are offering a small menu of snacks for purchase on flights over 60 minutes, and you'll find a snack and bottled water at your seat when you board.
Westjet won’t be serving drinks or food on flights under 60 minutes, so stay hydrated and enjoy a meal before heading to the airport.
Across your journey you’ll see WestJetters wearing personal protective equipment and masks suited to their roles.
Guests seated in Business and Premium will receive a snack and bottled water on all flights. On flights over 60 minutes, food and drinks will be provided.
Cleaning

Our aircraft

With fresh air introduced into the cabin every 2-3 minutes and hospital-quality filters, you can have peace of mind as you fly with us.
Westjet is using stronger disinfectants, more often and adding fogging to how Westjet sanitizes our aircraft.
The entire aircraft interior is completely disinfected using a hydrogen peroxide-based solution cleaner.
Westjet continue to clean with aviation-approved products, including Sanicide (disinfectant) for galleys and lavatories, along with Celeste 8500 for tray tables, general seating areas to ensure all guest contact surfaces are thoroughly disinfected
Westjet have added two additional disinfecting products to our cleaning regime–hospital-grade Clorox Wipes and Spray for all other touchpoint areas including washrooms.
Arrivals

Deplaning

When you land, please keep your face mask on until you have left the airport terminal.

Arrival guidance

Upon landing, passengers will need to adhere to the disembarkation instructions as advised by the cabin crew and observe the health and safety measures set by the authorities at the country of destination.
