For the World Airline Awards, regional airlines are defined as full service carriers that primarily operate domestic and/or International flights up to approx 6 hours. Whilst some regional airlines may operate a small number of longer flights, the core market for this airline classification are short/medium-haul routes where customer product and service expectations are different to long-haul routes.
Bangkok Airways wins the top Award for the World’s Best Regional Airline 2024. The World’s Top 5 Regional Airlines 2024 include Aegean Airlines (2nd), Azerbaijan Airlines (3rd), Rex Airlines (4th) and Azul Brazilian (5th).

Aegean Airlines won the award for the Best Regional Airline in Europe 2024. The Top 5 Regional Airlines in Europe 2024 include Air Dolomiti (2nd), Air Serbia (3rd), Air Nostrum (4th) and CSA Czech Airlines (5th).

Royal Air Maroc was named the Best Regional Airline in Africa 2024. The Top 5 Regional Airlines in Africa 2024 include RwandAir (2nd), Airlink (3rd), Nile Air (4th) and Tunisair (5th).
Rex Airlines won the award for the Best Regional Airline in Australia/Pacific 2024. The Top 5 Regional Airlines in Australia/Pacific 2024 include Virgin Australia (2nd), QantasLink (3rd), Air Tahiti (4th) and Samoa Airways (5th).
Bangkok Airways was named the Best Regional Airline in Asia 2024. The Top 5 Regional Airlines in Asia 2024 include Hong Kong Airlines (2nd), Tianjin Airlines (3rd), Juneyao Air (4th) and Bamboo Airways (5th).
Azerbaijan Airlines was voted the Best Regional Airline in Central Asia & CIS 2024. The Top 5 Regional Airlines in Central Asia & CIS 2024 include Uzbekistan Airways (2nd), Qazaq Air (3rd), SCAT Airlines (4th) and Ariana Afghan Airlines (5th).
Maldivian was named the Best Regional Airline in India/South Asia 2024. The Top 5 Regional Airlines in India/South Asia 2024 include Air India Express (2nd), Alliance Air (3rd), Star Air (4th) and US-Bangla Airlines (5th).
Porter Airlines was voted the Best Regional Airline in North America 2024. The Top 5 Regional Airlines in North America 2024 include Alaska Airlines (2nd), WestJet (3rd), jetBlue Airways (4th) and Breeze Airways (5th).

Azul Brazilian was named the Best Regional Airline in South America 2024. The Top 5 Regional Airlines in South America 2024 include StarPeru (2nd), SATENA (3rd), Conviasa (4th) and Avior Airlines (5th).
Tianjin Airlines was voted the Best Regional Airline in China 2024. The Top 5 Regional Airlines in China 2024 include Juneyao Air (2nd), Shenzhen Airlines (3rd), Chengdu Airlines (4th) and Sichuan Airlines (5th).

Copa Airlines was named the Best Regional Airline in Central America/Caribbean 2024. The Top 5 Regional Airlines in Central America/Caribbean 2024 include Bahamasair (2nd), interCaribbean (3rd), Cayman Airways (4th) and Bermudair (5th).

About the 2024 World Airline Awards
The World Airline Awards are independent and impartial, introduced in 1999 to provide a customer satisfaction study that was truly global. Travellers across the world vote in the largest airline passenger satisfaction survey to determine the award winners.
All costs of the Survey and Awards event are paid by Skytrax, and airlines do not pay any entry or registration fee. There are no charges for use of the Award logos and results.
The online customer survey operated from September 2023 to May 2024. The customer survey is provided in English, French, Spanish, Russian, Japanese and Chinese. Over 100 customer nationalities participated in the 2023/2024 survey. Survey entries are screened to identify IP and user information, with all duplicate, suspect or ineligible entries deleted. More than 350 airlines are featured in the final Award results.
