Taoyuan International Airport Terminal 2, Taiwan’s main international gateway, has retained its Skytrax 4-Star Rating following a detailed 2025 audit.

The latest evaluation confirms progress across several key areas, with stronger standards in wayfinding, passenger comfort, and terminal presentation combining with consistent and efficient operational processing.

Revisions to signage have improved clarity and this has been enhanced by early-stage mapping and directory developments. Upgraded seating and modernised concourse features the terminal’s strong performance – the new gate areas which comprise a range of interesting themed concepts that deliver a unique experience to customers.

Security, immigration, and transfer processes remain well-managed, and front-line airport staff continues to reflect good professionalism and attentiveness. Cleanliness was rated highly, supported by the ongoing refurbishment of washroom facilities and modernised maintenance practices.

Retail and dining areas continue to be improved, with an expanded mix of international and local brands giving customers wider choice and a stronger sense of place within the terminal.

With construction of the first stage of Terminal 3 now close to completion, it is anticipated that further refurbishment projects will be undertaken, to improve consistency in signage and facility design, and expanding accessibility support for PRM and hidden disability users.

“Taoyuan International Airport Terminal 2 continues to build on its strong foundations, achieving consistent standards across operational and service areas,” said Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax. “The latest audit confirms improvement in many key areas of the customer experience, particularly in wayfinding, comfort, and facility design. As work progresses towards the completion of the first phases of the Terminal 3 project, Taoyuan Airport is clearly positioning itself among the region’s leading hubs for quality and passenger experience.”
