Eurowings is Certified as a 4-Star Airline
By Peter Miller, Skytrax – London, UK
Eurowings, the German value carrier, has been certified as a 4-Star airline by the international air transport rating organisation, SKYTRAX, and has improved its overall performance in the latest audit assessment.
Eurowings, part of the Lufthansa Group, is a value carrier offering a dual cabin concept with a European style BIZclass product that compares quite well with European full service airlines although the onboard catering concept is less formal. Eurowings distinguishes itself from the ultra-low-cost carrier segment, allowing its customers to fly affordably and flexibly with numerous booking options and extras, as well as customer-friendly services.
Commenting on the 4-Star Airline Rating awarded to Eurowings, Edward Plaisted, Skytrax CEO said: “The certification of the 4-Star Rating for Eurowings reflects the very good standards of product and service observed during the recent audit. Eurowings offers passengers a number of differentiating facility options such as inflight WiFi and IFE, and cabin interiors and seating that have a more full-service aesthetic. Whilst the buy-on-board choices were perhaps not as extensive as some competitors, the actual quality and consistency of most items was found to be very favourable, and these were delivered by cabin crew who are professional, experienced, and friendly in their approach to customers .”
Eurowings BIZclass includes priority check-in and boarding, security fast lane at selected airports, lounge access where available, 2 large cabin bags, preferred seating in rows 1-3 with free middle seat and complimentary onboard catering.
The cabin staff service is efficient and the soft service and hospitality standards are high for the LCC market. Having regard to the changing dynamics of regional European air travel, Eurowings is delivering an almost full-service experience to customers.
The Eurowings fleet includes more than 100 aircraft that fly to 140 destinations in more than 50 countries. In addition to its bases in Cologne/Bonn, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Stuttgart and Berlin, Eurowings also has major operations in Palma de Mallorca, Salzburg, Prague and Stockholm.
Eurowings offers a selection of buy onboard drinks, snacks, sandwiches and hot meals during the flight though their WINGS bistro.
